YAY! IT'S SUNNY!

=-D
It started out gloomy this moning, then it turned bright and sunny!!!!!!!!! Let's see... I worked with Diesel and his feet. He did great! I was able to pick up all three with ease and I held up the back right for a few moments. Then I played with Eddie in the round pen. We worked on fun stuff at Liberty, figure eight, circling game and jumping over the barrels!
I played with and rode Scout next. He was very-very grass oriented and I really had to get into his mind so we could do stuff. =-) He actually did great! We weaved, trotted over the cavaletties, went for a walk and had a lot of fun. On the ground we worked on falling leaf (falling foliage) lol! and more weave, sideways, circling and more fun stuff! hehe!
Eddie was next! Again! It was the most awesome On Line session we've had for a long time. I mowed earlier so the grass was so beautiful, it looked like a golf course. So I took out the 45ft and came up with a few ideas. Eddie was awesome! Besides the fact he wanted to graze the whole time! lol! But I just laughed it off and continued. We cantered at the end of the 45ft and we did falling foliage, sidways towards and away, jumping lots of things and finally we went for a long walk all the way around the pasture in zone 5, doing transitions and such. It was so much fun!
I can't wait until I can work more with the 45ft. It was so much fun and Eddie loved all the room!
Here's my verse for today!

Psalm 56:4
In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?

Yesterday Evening and Today

Well, let's start with our Lock up time (6:30 pm) Eddie didn't want to eat his grain... Bad sign for a LBI/E. He always wants to eat. So we checked his vital signs, he had white gums, was a tad warm, his fur was standing on end and most of all he wouldn't eat. We called our vet (our nice vet, Dr. Deb Sink) and she said she was on her way. I knew what it was, he's had it three times before - what could it be? Colic! Oh joy! =-l I started walking him in the outdoor so if there was anything stuck up in there, it would work it's way out. Last time he coliced it was because he didn't drink enough water and a time before that he just had bad gas. So the vet came and did a rectal check and she said everything was fine 'up there.' Of course he was sedated by then. ;-) Then, because his gums were 'tacky' we had to put a tube up his nose to get water/electrolytes/oil in his stomach. So after the tube was in, the water was pumped in and then it came out. That was an interesting experience! So we didn't give him any food and let him sleep for the night.
In the morning he was awake and cranky! There's our normal Eddie! lol! He's had a great day since.
I really want to find out what makes him colic - too much grass is what Dr. Sink said. But I want to know how to prevent it, since he's prone to it. Well the was the excitement from last evening!

Today I played with Scout, Diesel, Eddie and then Scout and Diesel again. Plus I had to shuffle them around from paddock, to outdoor, to track to wherever! haha! It was a lot of work. I'm not going to go into a lot of detail, because I'm tired. But we had a lot of fun and I love horsey days!!!

Rain and more rain...............

Yesterday morning I rode Eddie in the morning. It was a lot of fun, and we even trotted around! It feels so good to be back into our riding. Level 2 freestyle here we come!!!!
The bugs have been so bad lately and it's been raining on and off. When the rain is holding off, I played with Eddie a few times. We were doing the figure eight/falling leaf at the canter with flying changes. O_O It was pretty awesome! He had a lot of energy! lol!
It's still raining now... Hopefully it will stop either tomorrow or tonight.
I also played with Diesel. He is getting so good with the friendly game now! We're really getting there. Thanks again Mike for helping us out with that!

Jigs & Bugs & Parties - OH MY!

Two days ago I played with Jigs at Flannery and it was awesome! We worked on everything, Patterns, and lots of other stuff. I'm so tired right now...
I played with Eddie when I got back and there were SO many mosquitoes! So we just played at liberty in the paddock. Basic Level 2 games, just as a refresher.
Then on Sunday we had my sister's party. Don't even ask.... It was way too hectic and crazy! But it was nice to go off for a little bit and just get away from all the chit-chat. =-) But it was kind of cool. My daily devotional's word yesterday was, enthusiasm and talked about what keeps you from sharing God's word and how not to loose your enthusiam towards God. I knew what kept me from it was my shyness. So I really worked on being a shining light to people and being Jesus' disciple. It felt great!
Now today, the horses are going to get trimmed and 11am. So we're going to do Diesel, Eddie, my mom and I are going to leave for Flannery to catch Jigs, then Mike will do Scout and then he'll come out to Flannery to do Jigs. hehe, crazy! lol!
So I'll write to you tonight, telling how it goes.

~Today~

Be sure to scroll down and see my post from earlier this morning! =-)
Today I played with Eddie out in the pasture On Line and man did he have a lot of energy! We did canter transitions and trotting change of directions. During the COD's we did the simple lead changes, trot through the change and go back to the canter. Yeehaw!!!
We jumped over things, trotting over things, and I generally worked on my send. Big send, and a fast 2/3/4 phase. That REALLY helped! All I had to do was point and he would be gone! lol!

I groomed Diesel in the afternoon and he did good. I got to hold ALL of his feet! Yay! We're really making progress!

And finally I rode Scout around every now and then throughout the day. He did really good, and it felt good to be riding again. I think I've ridden every day this week. YAY! It was really windy, so I didn't want to push it with Eddie (riding him wise) but we're getting there!

All in God's Time

All in God's time I'll be the best me I can be for Eddie. We'll have an amazing relationship like the people in these videos. They make me look to the future with excitement. But there's also a balance. Balancing my dream - playing with horses and furthering God's Kingdom.
I hope you can find the balance and become the extreme middle-of-the-roadist.

Riding!!!

I rode in the dry lot today! We worked on Level 1 things and I had all the confidence in the world! I was really trusting myself that if something felt bad, I would retreat, retreat, retreat. So now I'm really excited to get back out there and ride some more. (Hopefully tonight) I asked him to trot, he didn't really want to, but that was ok! Take the time it takes! We sidewaysed with and without a fence and did a very light lateral flexion and FQ/HQ yeild, and a backup. It's going to be fun riding tonight and teaching him some more of the bow. Now my Level 2 freestyle doesn't seem to far off. Thank you God for teaching me patience!

It all begins with bowing!

The weather is unbelievable! Gorgeous! Awesome! Totally superb!
Let's see...
I played with Eddie this morning. We worked on our circling game (finding responsibility) and sideways and we worked on our cantering on the 45 foot line. I hopped on for a little bit and let him graze around. It was so nice outside!
I groomed Diesel this afternoon and he did awesome! Check out my other blog for that story: http://www.trustinmenaturally.blogspot.com/
I played with Eddie again in the round pen at 5. It was so peaceful in there. The sun was setting behind the aspen tree and the breeze was great. We worked on our bowing! =-) He did really well with that. His knee was almost touching the ground. There were a lot of laughs, and a lot of mess-ups. lol! A few times I started cracking up! The carrots really helped too. So the next step is him to rest his knee on the ground. If anyone has any tips, I would love to hear them! Our goal by the end of the year, is to lie down. So it all begins with bowing!
I hopped on after our bowing and did some Level 1 freestyle things. I was in shorts, and crocs and I didn't have a helmet on - we were quite a pair! I also just had the 22 foot line as one rein... lol! He was so patient! =-D
Savvy out! *she says giggling*

1 John 15-17
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.

On Line & Liberty & Freestyle!

Today was a super day!
I played with Eddie on line in the pasture and he was great! We did a weave in a circle and did the walk-the-line pattern. It was a lot of fun and I also filled out our self assessment sheet. For on line we're a solid Level 3 except for the circling game. We can't do the 6-10 laps at the trot/canter, but everything else is great! So we're playing in Level 4 on line! Then for Liberty we're a solid Level 2 and we can do more then half of Level 3. So we're playing in Level 3/4 at liberty. YIPEEE!!! I have yet to fill out freestyle, because we're still working on confidence/leadership skills.
So I was so thrilled we're working in Level 3/4! It's awesome to see how far you've gone in just a few months!
I played with Scout too. We played on line in the round pen, just going through the seven games, and seeing where we needed to improve. Then I rode him around for a while and did some patterns. We went sideways, did the figure eight, bull's eye pattern, stood on the pedestal and jumped over the small logs. He's such a good boy! =-)
Diesel was next up! My mom and I did his feet and we can solidly pick up three. Yay! We're working on number 4. His back right. Hmm... Friendly game!!!
Then I played with Eddie again! We played at liberty and a with a bit of freestyle. His liberty is amazing now! We played with the figure eight, because he likes to run off with it, but he's doing a lot better! Lots of sideways towards and away and circling game too! I hopped on from the pedestal (which I can do uber easily now!!) and I sat on him while he grazed. He likes to graze! =-D
Here are pictures!!
Sideways towards and away this morning!
Walking around! =-) You can click on the picture to enlarge it!

Congratulations Allison!

My big sister is now a graduate!

We've been friends since I was born and now she's all grown up! I love you so much sis! No matter how old you get, you're still that little girl in the box singing Just Around the Riverbend pretending to be Pocahontas. =-D I wish you the best in your future years and I know you'll so great things!
Love you!!!

Rainy, rainy friday!

It has been raining ALL day. YUCK!!!!!!! It was cold this morning, and now with the rain it's super gross. Actually it just stopped now, so the horses went out. Yippee!
Yesterday I rode and it was fun! I really want to get back into the riding thing. I miss it and I want to go far in our riding. Sigh... All in good time! We'll get there! =-) Eddie and I have a wonderful relationship no matter where we are.
Well I guess there's not much else to report.
Rain, rain, go away!

Here's my verse:

Ecclesiastes 11:5
5 As you do not know what is the way of the wind, Or how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child, So you do not know the works of God who makes everything.

It's lovely, isn't it?

Tues-Thursday

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. =-( It's been busy here lately!
Tuesday we had our last day of Hallstrom. YIPPEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad that math is done! So when we came home we played with the boys and just generally hung out. I can't really remember what I did with Eddie... Hmm.... I think-OH YEAH! We played in the pasture at first. We played with a fast weave and fast figure eights. Then we trotted over the cavaletties and jumped a bunch of stuff. We played in the round pen at liberty after that. He did good, we did the figure eight at liberty with a bit of trotting and he did great! I hopped on a few times and ended on a very good note! =-)
The weather on Wednesday was terrible! It was so wet and windy and it rained on and off. I was home with dad and we had to juggle the boys around while my sister was at work. I groomed Scout and Eddie, Diesel was rolling in all the mud, so he was very muddy! We had some storms roll through last night and now it's clear this morning!
Now Today I shall play with Eddie and groom Diesel and it shall be a glorious day! =-D

2 Peter 1:5-8
5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Awesome, awesome liberty session!

We had the most amazing play session in the pasture today!!!!
First we were On Line and he was great! We did huge figure eights and weaving at the trot and sideways away and towards. Then I just went for it and took the 22 off. We jumped over the barrels, sidewaysed over the cavaletties, sidewaysed towards without a fence, weaved at the walk/trot and had SO MUCH FUN!!!! Then I put my savvy string on him and we did the circling game with that at the canter. YES! At the canter on the 6 foot string! I had to move my feet a bit because he doesn't know how to do the collected canter, but he did it! Amazing much????
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkLSG65Z0Lc He looked like this, except I had the savvy string on his halter, and I was circling with him a bit.
It was awesome!!!
Well, off to go and play with Scout!
Here's my daily verse:
1 Peter 3:13-17
13 And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.” 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; 16 having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. 17 For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

Just some thoughts from tonight...

Life is so good!
My mom and I put up the east side of the track today. It was a lot of fun! I love hanging out with her. Love you mom!
I can't wait for the future. But then again,I think that the 'future' is something that we wish for, but it's not going to change that much. Jeremiah 29:11 says: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. I guess we think that the future will be better, but our earthly lives will never be perfect. It will only be perfect in Heaven.
Well there goes that idea... I was going to write about how I can't wait for my Parelli future, but right now it doesn't seem too important after that thought. I do think that God has amazing plans for me. He has opened up so many doors, I just have to do the right thing so I can go through them. Like not forget Him. ;-)
Well, going to go to bed now!
Good night!!!

Ah! It's been so busy!!

Alrighty then...
On May 5th. I rode Eddie in the round pen and it was a lot of fun! If someone had been home and I had had a helmet I would have trotted around and jumped the barrels. We were having that good of a day! It feels so good to be confident now!
On May 6th. it was my birthday and I had another good ride on Eddie. He was SO SO SO tired!!! We did the figure eight pattern, I asked him to trot, he walked faster, and we stood on the pedestal. I wish he had trotted, but it was a safe, and confident ride, so I can't complain! =-)
On May 7th. I took Eddie for a walk around the pasture. He did great without any buddy. It was just me and him which is a huge improvement! We played at liberty and I rode for a little bit. Oh, but I have to tell you, my mom told me to take off my boots so I could mount easier. Because it's impossible to swing your leg up and over Eddie with heavy boots. So I was riding in my socks! How interesting! And we were bareback and bridleless! He went over to the fence and stuck his entire head underneath the electric. I knew he would spook, because he always does so I hopped off... with my socks... into the mud... Ewww........... lol! So I continued to play at liberty and online with just my socks. They were black by the end of the play session! too funny!!! I also gave Eddie a bath. He didn't like it. lol! He stood perfectly but he was chewing his rope and getting made at it. I think he didn't like it because the water was cold. =-( Sorry Eddie! lol!
Then today, I went out, cleaned stalls and I have yet to play with the horses. My sister is at work, so I get them all to myself! Yippeee!!!!!!!!!!

Colossians 1:15-17
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.
For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him.
He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

Liberty!!!

Alrighty then...
Let's start with this morning...
Well this morning I worked with Diesel and he was fantastic. I walked around with him out in the pasture and he was very friendly. I played with his front feet and rubbed his back ones. He's doing much better! I can't wait to work with him again tomorrow!!!
Then I played with Eddie. We had an amazing session!!!! At first we played with a bit of zone 5 driving and he was VERY sleepy!!! So I got my bareback pad, hackamore, and helmet and whipped my butterflies into formation with my carrot stick! lol! I hopped on (quite gracefully and with ease) and we walked around. He was very lazy, but we did do the figure eight, sideways (which was SO light) stood on the pedestal, touched a barrel, 9 step back up, FQ yields and HQ yields. It was a lot of fun and I was confident the whole time! WOOHOO!!!!! Thank you Jesus for giving it back!!!!!!!!
We played at liberty a little bit after and he did great. We sidewaysed towards and away without a fence (at liberty) and it's suddenly burst into Level 3 quality! YIPPEE!!!!
Here are pictures:
(I'll post them later!!!!)
We played later this afternoon and we were going to do our Level 3 liberty audition, but I had to change plans. For some reason he didn't want to hide his HQ. What a silly dude! lol! But we'll try again maybe tomorrow.
Oh, and my birthday is on Wednesday! 15... wow... Time flies!!!!!
OH! And here is my new blog. It's all about Diesel!

It's Bath Time!!!

Scout and Diesel got a bath today!! Pictures!!!
Diesel got a new halter today! Thank you Y Knot rope halters!
He didn't enjoy it too much, but I got A LOT of dirt off of him. But he rolled 11 times. What a goof!!!

Eddie and I played out in the pasture again today. We played with cantering on the 45 foot line and we played at liberty out there too. He did great again. He never ceases to amaze me!!!! I'm so in love with him! LOVE YOU EDDIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

!!! IT'S MAY !!!

IT'S MAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wowwie!!!!
Yesterday it was raining in the morning and then I played with Eddie a bit. I think I rode. I can't remember! lol! He was really good! Oh YES!!!!!!! I got my red string!!!!!!! From mom!!!!!! Well it was supposed to be a birthday present because she ordered one for me and my sister. Extra ones. But I accidentally opened it when it came form FedEx because anything from Parelli gets opened within minutes. ;-) Ooops!!!!!!!!
Today was amazing. Ok, so this morning I went to bring Scout inside at 8. I rode him in. It was FUN! Then I turned around and Eddie was following. So I closed the pasture gate and we played at liberty! In the 3 acre pasture!!!!!!! It was awesome!!!! We sticked close (only left a few times) and we jumped, jumped more, 'stick to me'ed sidewaysed towards and away, canter/trot 'stick to me's and backwards by the tail and so much more! It was awesome! Definitly a Level 3 quality!!! I was so happy!!!!!!
Then this afternoon Diesel laid down. What a cutie. I'll post a pic at the bottom of the post. Eddie and I played again this afternoon. First we played On Line in the pasture and man, did he have energy! But wait, first I have to tell ya that he and Scout were RUNNING around the pasture being goofballs. 8-) Diesel was so cute, he was trotting around the outdoor like, "ME too!!!"
So I opened the pasture gate (because I thought he would come to me before he ran around) and Eddie ran inside.
I haltered him and such and we went back out to pasture. We did everything! Canter transitions, jump towards, cavaletties, jumps, change of directions and like I said above, so much more. It was EXHAUSTING!!!!!!!!!! He had so much energy and I had to keep up with it and add to it! He was like a frog! lol! *BOING!*BOING!*BOING!*
We went in the round pen after that and that was a bit better. I noticed that he's making me move my feet a lot so I started throwing dirt clods at him if he stopped on the circle. He kept making me get off the pedestal. That darn frog. ;-) Hehe, no, he's my prince!!! Then I hopped on for a bit and we walked around bareback & bridleless without a savvy string and without a helmet. Oops. lol!
Here are pictures from yesterday and today!!!
Our savvy red string!!!
LOVE YOU EDDIE!!!!

Let's go over here......
