2011!

Well, 2010 is coming to a close, and 2011 is looming right ahead. Yippee! I can't believe how fast this year went by! Well, actually it feels like it went by fast, but then again, it doesn't. :-/ Hmm!
Anyway, it was a wonderful year with many blessings, unforgettable moments, and happy times. God is good!

Eddie and I have made huge progress over this last year. Our relationship continues to grow, and I am so blessed to have him in my life. He trusts in me more everyday, and I love him so much!

Speaking of which, we went for a walk in the wind, fog and slush today. Everything is melting, and it is a balmy 40 degrees in the barn! Who would have thought that 50 degree temperatures tomorrow would welcome in the new year! lol!

Here is a video of Eddie and I playing recently. We've been having so much fun and enjoying the beautiful snow!

Green

Finding the green grass!
That's what Eddie and I did today! We went into the backyard (got many weird stares from people passing in their cars) and we found the green, delectable, yummy, oh-so good, dead grass. And Eddie was goin crazy for it!
There were some huge drifts by the garage, so we literally hopped through those, Eddie looked like a bunny, and it was rather humorous to see a 1,000 pound horse hopping like a 1 pound bunny.
Although he wouldn't leave them, so I guess he was enjoying himself.
Who would'da thought it?

We've mostly been going for walks, jumping various things together, and occasionally riding for a little bit. This picture is by no means, mine, nor does it look like the paths we've been taking walks on. But nonetheless, I thought it twas pretty. Only in my dreams...
On Christmas, we had our traditional ride/play time with the horses. It was very nice, and a wonderful Christmas tradition that we always do.

I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas! We had a great one!

O holy night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of the dear Saviour's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining.
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, o night when Christ was born;

Snow Day = Play Day!

Eddie was very, very sleepy today! ;-) So we went for a nice, slow walk, through the orchard and over by the 'sink hole.' Which is where the puddles were in the summer. hehe, which is why it's a sink hole. lol!

Anyway, we went there and back again, into the round pen. I just let him graze and I hopped on for a little bit. It was really nice out, while the sun was out, but unfortunately it went away. But that's ok! The horses are just sleeping anyway!

So, we went for our walk, hung out in the round pen, rode for a little bit, and that just about sums it up! lol!
Going out to do chores in a little bit...

Can ya tell I'm fishin for somethin to write about?!
Oh, I know!

I was thinking yesterday about what I truly aim for with the horses. But, that actually got me thinking about what others aim for with their horses. It seems like (from videos I watch on Youtube) that the common goal is to be able to do anything with your horse. Whether it's riding up a mountain, or just being able to halter your horse. Our goals are to do them with ease. But would horses really want that? Moreover, would you really want someone that you've known for a long time, to be able to do anything with you. Go on a rollercoaster, conquer a huge fear, or something like that? Horses are guarded for a reason, as are humans. So instead of having your horse do anything for you. You do anything for your horse. Take a long time to sort through a problem, do something that you normally wouldn't do, like be extra patient. That's when horses really open up themselves, because they know that you can be trusted, and won't push you over their comfort zones.

A Wonderful Ride in the Snow

It was like playing in a big, white, bubble today. It was cloudy, it was very foggy all day, and snow was covering the ground. All that, made it very peaceful, and quiet today.

First, we started in the pasture and got a lot of energy out. Well, sort of. He was in a pretty docile mood. We cantered once and trotted around, jumped a few things and called it quits.

Because, he was in such a good mood, I hopped on for a little bit in the pasture.

We just walked around, I let him lick some barrels and just chill. :-) Some pretty noisy trucks went by, but I am so happy to report that he didn't spook or anything. Which was wonderful! I just remembered the b word - Breathe!!! lol!
After that, Allison, Scout, Eddie and I went into the pasture and did some more riding. Eddie and I trotted around, and did a few laps in there.
I was very, very excited about how willing he was. He just keeps getting better with every play time!
Here are some more pictures of me riding Ed! <3
We had a great time, and it was fun to ride in the fog. I felt like I was in a movie or somethin'. hehe, not!
It was just a really nice time, and I think Eddie thought so too. :-)

 Romans 1:16-17
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

Snow Day!

Yesterday was so much fun!
Bec came out and played with Eddie and Scout and I, we had a ton of fun! First we all played out in the pasture and just had fun with our boys. Then, we hopped on for a little bit. Eddie and I trotted to a barrel, and then I had to 'abandon ship' because he left the barrel at a trot, and was very eager to go into a canter. But hey, at least I stayed on for the most part and left by my own choice. lol!!!
Bec and Scout trotted around, then ran around at liberty too. I took lots and lots of pictures!

Then, we went skijoring!  Eddie pulled Rebecca and I led him. He did so well! We did a whole lap around the pasture and she didn't fall once! Way to go!! :-)

Needless to say, I was very proud of Eddie, he was quite the gentleman!

Once we were done playing with
our horses, we went down to Rebecca's barn and played with Savannah and Jigs!

It was really fun! We brought them into the barn, groomed them up, and then Rebecca rode Savy in the grass pasture, while I grazed Jigs. He had done so well picking up his feet, that I just wanted to reward him for it.
After that, I put Jigs back into his paddock, because it was getting close to feeding time, and Rebecca and I went into the indoor. It was very cold out!
We finished up by playing with Savannah, taking lots of fun pictures, and just hanging out.

It was a super fun play day!! :-)

Pictures!

Well, it's been very cold lately, so I haven't been playing with the horses too much. We have been able to play, or at least go for a walk, but not for long. It's just way too cold! So, here's a post dedicated to pictures from the last couple of days! :-) Enjoy!!

Tinker belle, our kitty, sitting in a bucket that's supposed to be full of water!
Played with Eddie and Scout in the outdoor together!
 Aw, Scouty!

Hehe, Eddie thought it would be fun to teach Scout a few tricks, hey, he did get him to back up! lol!
 Pretty sunrise from yesterday!
Eddie in his blanket - if it gets under 20 we have to blanket him, he looses weight in the cold since he doesn't have a thick winter coat.
 Such a pretty boy!
Me and Eddie! :-) Say cheese!

I love winter!

Frosty, Crunchy Snow!

That's just about what the footing was today! :-) Very crunchy, sort of slippery, but firm enough to play on.
So, Eddie and Scout and I had a great play time. First I played with Eddie out in the pasture and we had lots of fun running around, jumping over things and I hopped on for a little bit. He was very spunky, so I haltered up Scout and we went for a lap in the track together - all three of us. Which was fun! Scout loves to walk at a medium pace, and Eddie likes to walk r..e...a...l...l...y slowly. hehe, it was so cute! I had quite a handful with trying to speed Ed up, but slow Scout down and try to manage the ropes in between. But once we got halfway around the track, it was as easy as pie, and they were both very willing to do what I asked. :-) They are such good ponies!!

After that, we went in the outdoor and Allison and I let them run around together for a while. It was fun, and they were having a ball just running around, eating snow and biting each other. I love to watch them play!
I'll have some pictures up later, we took lots from today!
