What a rainy day! It rained on and off today, poured a few times and it was windy, windy, windy! So, Eddie and I played in the pasture with some cantering, jumping and just playing together! It was really fun and he was very happy to play! I sent him to different things (long range) like barrels, buckets, pedestals and jumps. He was so exuberant and playful, he was just really excited to do the things I asked him. :-) It was really cool!
Unfortunately, We haven't been riding much because it has either been WET or WINDY or both... So hopefully we get to ride some more soon and the sun starts coming out. Although, we have had a ton of fun playing at liberty in the pasture!
The other day we were just sprinting together in the pasture. He was at a canter and I was at a dead run. :-) It was SO fun! Then we would stop, spin around and go to a jump and soar over it. There honestly is nothing like true harmony! Eddie was so connected, so eager and willing, and just wanted to have fun! He got a bunch of drinks from his bucket out in the pasture so that was a plus. :-) It's a good day when Eddie drinks!
Overall, we have had so much fun even though we haven't been riding and today we even cantered around together at liberty out in the pasture. It's his new favorite thing to do besides go for walks around the track.

Trimmin Away!
Yesterday I trimmed Scouty!
His feet are looking really good and I'm getting a lot more comfortable taking more off. Yay! But yeah, his feet are looking amazing, his central sulcuses are not as deep, his heels are widening out and his heels aren't as high.
After I trimmed Scout, I played with Eddie in the outdoor. He was a crazy horse! He was bucking everywhere, jumping around, galloping and just having a good ole time! I actually watched from the other side of the fence because I didn't want to get in the way of his antics! lol!
But it was a really good thing he got to expel some of his energy. Because it's back to mud-ville and stinkin-windy farm today!

Updates!
Well, I have been a bad blogger the past couple of weeks. And you know what, I don't have an excuse! Well, maybe I do, I have a cold that is still lingering on. :-( But hopefully it won't stick around for too long. Anyway, Eddie and I have been doing some things on and off. It's been windy and cloudy and cold, so we've been playing in the pasture, going for walks and doing a little bit of riding. It's also been raining a lot... So that makes everything slippery. But we have had some good play times and we're playing more with collection which he really enjoys because he gets to be 'naughty.' lol!
Yesterday, I played with Eddie and Scout in the pasture. We all played with our cantering, jumping things and collection. :-) They liked that! Especially because I gave them lots of treats! I hopped on Scout for a little bit, but didn't do much because it was rather slippery. But they enjoyed themselves, and after lunch mom and I headed out to Eagle's Wings. I played with Jigs and trimmed him up and he was great! Very playful and sort of naughty, but he is such a sweetie! :-) We did some falling leaf, collection (which I think he thought fascinating!) jumped a cavaletti and did some circles.
Such good ponies we have, I love them so much!

Happy Birthday Eddie!
Today is Eddie's birthday!
He turns 9 years old today. Wow! Where has time gone? Our family bought him when he was 5 years old, but we went to see him a few days before his birthday when he was 4. Eddie came to us with a troubled past, but thanks to patience and parelli, we worked through his problems slowly. It's on days like these (and our anniversary in 3 days) I realize how far we've come. From a thin, scared, confused and defensive 4 year old, to a mature, beautiful, willing and happy 9 year old - Eddie has come a long way. And I am so happy to have him in my life!

It's 72 Degrees!
I woke up this morning and did not expect for the high to be in the 70's today!! It was awesome!
So, I was super glad it was Saturday and was excited to play with Eddie. First, we went for a long walk around the perimeter of the property. He really enjoyed it and it was the first time we've done that for a long time. I hope that we can explore some more this spring. Anyway, we went for a walk and very long story short, Eddie ended up loose in the track and took a whopping 3-4 laps at a gallop. 0_0 I ended up catching him and putting him back in his paddock where he calmed down for a while. But after that they went out just fine and when they came in after grazing for awhile, I groomed both Eddie and Scout up. There was a lot of fur and it's still coming off! At one point it felt like Scout was a cow because I was pulling all the fuzz off of his belly, so it felt like I was milking him! lol! That made me laugh! So, I groomed them up, cleaned out their feet and then at 4, we rode in the outdoor for about an hour. It was really fun, because I switched from Eddie to Scout, then back to Eddie. hehe! We trotted around a little bit, went from barrel to barrel, stood on the pedestal and watched all the traffic go by. That was kind of annoying, but hey, I guess it's spring and everyone's out being busy.
So yea, that was my day and it was awesome! :-) Tomorrow it is supposed to be in the 80's... Oh boy! That will be interesting!

Playing with all the ponies!
The last couple of days, I've been playing with Eddie and Scout and even Diesel a lot! We've been playing in the outdoor at liberty, online in the pasture and I've taken them all for lots of walks. I think Diesel is the happiest for the walks, because the grass is getting SO green!
I played with Eddie and Scout in the outdoor together yesterday and they were great. They were running around together, jumping over the cavaletties that I had stacked up and just having a jolly good time! I've also been riding them almost every day. Even if it's just a lap in the outdoor or in the pasture, we've been getting in at least two rides a day, on Scout and Eddie that is.
Unfortunately, it is raining today (on and off) and yesterday evening Eddie had a bought of dehydration. (That's what I shall call it now instead of colic. Because I don't really think it is colic.) Anyway, that took up most of our evening last night, but praise the Lord, he is better today! He just forgets to drink, or gets too much grass and gets dehydrated - my poor boy! Hopefully we can figure out a solution to this, but even if it does happen every few months, that's better than him being on medication or a product all his life. Last year, I believe, he only had it 3 or 4 times. Then this is the first time this year, so I'm praying that we can go a few more months without having another episode.
Overall, we've had a great couple of days even though it's been cloudy and chilly!

Eddie's Stride!
Here is a video of Eddie and his foot fall! His feet are doing great and are coming into spring nicely!
Today we played in the pasture online and he was VERY sleepy! So the majority of what we did today was trimming, which took a little longer than an hour because a) my rasp is dull b) I was lazy and c) I took lots of breaks. lol! But we rode in the outdoor for a little bit too and he was hyper in there! hehe, funny how he changes when we ride.
Although now that I think about it, he was more hyper/sleepy... I'm not quite sure he knew what he wanted to be! ;-)

Scout!
I've been playing with Scout every day too! He has SO enjoyed it and just loves to play! Yesterday, we played in the pasture Online and we did cavaletties, tried to jump things (he doesn't really like to jump) and we also went for a walk around the pasture. The grass is really starting to come up, so I've been regulating his grass intake more because we don't want cresty ponies this spring! ;-) (sorry Scout...) hehe!
Then today we played at liberty in the outdoor. He was so spunky! We trotted around, did some cutting game, stood on the pedestal, cantered together and jumped over the cavaletties. He was having a blast and was very happy that Eddie wasn't in there with us, chasing him. I don't blame him! :-)
Yesterday, I had rode around at liberty in the outdoor and both of them had to share the grain. Er, the treats... Scout did not like that, he likes to have his treats alone. hehe, such silly boys!
Hopefully it will warm up soon and we can play some more!

Eddie!
The last couple of days I have been playing with Eddie at liberty a lot! Yesterday, we played in the outdoor at liberty and today we played in the pasture at liberty! It has been really windy lately, so that stinks... But yesterday night it was warm out and very... spooky! So, we played in the late afternoon yesterday and I groomed him, played at liberty and rode around a little bit. It's fun, I can now get on him from the ground, bareback! With the help of a cavaletti end, but still! That's a lot way up there! Yay! He is such a good boy and loves to play at liberty!
We played in the outdoor, like I said today. Eddie was very hyper, so he came trotting up to me and we ran around together, jumped different things and he didn't leave me once! Yahoo! He is such a good boy, I love him so much! We didn't ride today, because it was windy and cloudy, but we had a lovely time anyway!

Picture Post!
Eddie and I have been riding a lot more lately. Here, we trotting around, walked between the poles, backed between them and had an amazing ride! I love my Eddie boy! He is the best pony ever!
=-) Getting some grain out of my pocket! Yum!
Wee! Let's go!
I like this one! =-) His mane is so golden!
....And Diesel fell asleep! So we had to cut our ride short, but we did a lot and we also worked on some of our 180's which he is really getting the hang of! Yay!
